Job Description as follows:
  1. Undertake technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
  2. Develop detailed designs.
  3. Assess the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertake risk management in specialist roles.
  4. Supervise tendering procedures and put together proposals.
  5. Manage, supervise and visit contractors on site and advise on civil engineering issues.
  6. Oversee the work of junior staff, or mentor civil engineers throughout the chartership process.
  7. Communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients.
  8. Think both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.
  9. Manage change, as the client may change their mind about the design, and ensure relevant parties are notified of changes in the project.
  10. Lead teams of other engineers, perhaps from other organizations or firms.
  11. Compile, check and approved reports.
  12. Use computer-aided design (CAD) packages for designing projects.
  13. Plans, organizes, schedules, and supervises the campus facilities maintenance operations with the campus operation, including supervisory responsibilities.
  14. Establishes job priorities and time frames for Maintenance Staff.
  15. Monitors completion of job assignments through frequent field observation and inspections to ensure compliance with standards and instruction and revises instructions and time frames as necessary.
  16. Responsible for training employees on equipment, task procedures, work standards and proper safety procedures.
