Responsibilities :
- The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the bank's practices, business and operations are in compliance with Shariah (Islamic law) based on the guidelines or rulings issued by the bank's Shariah Committee and other relevant authorities such as Ifta office of the Sultanate and AAOIFI, etc.
- He will translate business proposals to Shariah papers to be presented to the Shariah Committee and act as an intermediary between the committee and the management with regard to the proposals.
- In addition to this, he will develop and implement Shariah compliance culture within the organization and provide training to employees on the same; establish Shariah compliance monitoring processes, etc.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Shariah (Islamic Law) is mandatory.
- In addition, applicants must have at least 5 years experience in Islamic Finance / Islamic Commercial Law related area, i.e., Islamic Banking, Islamic Capital Market, etc. Fluency in Arabic is required.
