Job Title: Material Specialist
Job Location: Sohar, Oman

Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering Graduate or Diploma in Material Management
- Minimum 6 years experience in matrial Management in a petrochemical or oil and gas industries
- Sound knowledge of international codes and standards
- Should be able to interpret equipment drawings
- Knowledge in SAP material management module
- Good communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS office applications
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain technical specifications of materials and ensure availability to support the maintenance and production functions
- Define purchase specifications for all materials on stock and maintain material master data base in company business system (SAP)
- Maintain an optimum stocking level of inventory to ensure the required level of plant reliability.
- Inspect all incoming materials and reconcile with purchase order and/or applicable material specifications, including engineering drawings, equipment manuals and product catalogs
- Develop preservation procedures and assist to maintain items in storage
- Periodically inspect items with long residence times to confirm integrity of materials
- Establish and maintain annual supply contracts for high consumption items
- Prepare appropriate reports as per requirement of management and end-users.
